Functions and features

Professional and reliable telephony that simplifies day-to-day business and improves customer service plays a central role in every company. With the VA1100-VM, many convenient functions such as interactive voice menus, call groups, queues or individual announcements, which used to be associated with considerable costs, can be realised quickly and easily.

Today, modern VoIP telephone systems can also be conveniently installed on an existing server. A VM-PBX is a scalable and flexible way to make professional and cost-effective calls. The VA1100-VM enables installation in a virtualised environment. All end devices that support the SIP protocol can be operated on the system. It is also possible to provide a large number of end devices simply via auto-provisioning. Analogue fax machines, door intercoms or alarm systems can also be connected via VoIP analogue gateways.

The VA1100-VM is an easy-to-administer telephony solution that integrates seamlessly into your existing IT infrastructure.

You are free to decide how and with what you want to make calls. The VA series supports a wide range of terminal device types. These include:

  • IP telephones
  • DECT telephones (DECT over IP)
  • Conference phones
  • Softphones
  • Smartphones via SIP client
  • Analogue end devices (fax; door intercoms; EC-Cash; analogue telephones) via ATA box

With the VA series, you can connect almost all VoIP telephones and end devices. You are therefore not tied to one manufacturer and can equip your telephony system according to your preferences. We support the following manufacturers, among others:

  • Snom
  • Yealink
  • Fanvil
  • Grandstream
  • Gigaset
  • Tiptel
  • Auerswald

Many telephones can be quickly and easily registered on the telephone system using auto-provisioning. Of course, you can also connect software-supported end devices (softphones) or smartphones to the system.

All features in detail

When a call group is defined, several extensions ring simultaneously when a call is made to a specific number. The end devices ring until one of the employees within this call group accepts the call. This feature is also known as "parallel ringing".

Virtual faxes have a clear advantage over analogue paper faxes. Incoming fax documents are sent to a defined e-mail address (e.g. fax@firmenurl.de) so that all faxes can be viewed and processed centrally and easily.

With a modern telephone system, time-controlled call forwarding can be configured easily and conveniently. This type of time control makes it possible to set answering machines or other modules such as IVR (voice dialogue system), call forwarding or queues at a precisely defined time. A common scenario is automatic forwarding to an answering machine before and after the actual working hours.

Customisable music on hold and announcement texts are now standard functions of a professional VoIP telephone system. Music on hold, also known as music on hold, is useful when a caller is not put through directly to a call partner and has to wait in a queue on the line. As long as the call is on hold, the caller hears a sound file that can be customised.

Waiting loops are usually required when customers dial a number and the availability of employees or agents is not guaranteed. The caller then remains in the queue until an agent is available. Queues are mostly used in call centres, doctors' surgeries, larger sales departments or in the technical services sector, which have a medium to high call volume.

Interactive voice menus, or IVR for short, give the caller the option of making selections and thus distributing the call to different dialling plan numbers (e.g. extensions). The caller is played a sound file (as an announcement) that explains the possible IVR options. By pressing the corresponding button (e.g. 1), the call is forwarded to the set dialling plan number (e.g. to a call group, extension or queue).

The system contains both, a local and an LDAP telephone book. With the local telephone book, personally important telephone numbers are stored directly on the telephone system. Central telephone books, on the other hand, can be created with the LDAP telephone book. LDAP can also be used to set up a so-called reverse search. This means, for example, that incoming calls are displayed directly on a VoIP telephone or softphone.

Conference calls play a major role in today's digitalised world. Most modern VoIP telephones and softphones can be used to hold classic three-party conferences. If more than three participants are to take part in a conference or if the conference is to have a PIN-protected area, this can also be set up directly via the VoIP telephone system.

Even in the digital age, an answering machine is part of a professional telephone system. The telephone system contains sufficient voicemail boxes so that each extension or extension number also has its own voicemail box.
