A medium-sized IT company can be contented when it has not only survived the turbulence of 30 years, but has good
prospects for the next decade within its sights. This was the resume of the ceremonial address. In a masterly
fashion the company CEO Michael Pickhardt recalled the years since the formation up to the TDT birthday, skilfully
linking important developments within the IT branch to the assembled TDT employees. The appreciation of the team
was the quintessence of his speech, which the chief executive officer of the Lower Bavarian chamber of commerce,
Walter Keilbart seized upon to stress the importance of innovative medium-sized companies. Using polished words
Dieter Gutmann (Shell concern) brought the discussion quickly to the point. He bridged the time period between
the present and the future. Describing the global challenges and in summing up stressing the strengths and
weaknesses of medium-sized companies. He also urged the strategic cooperation between politic, commercial
organisations and business. The Bavarian minister of state and chairman of the CSU Edwin Huber was able to shine
with the latest employment figures. Nationally, Lower Bavaria is the region with the lowest unemployment figures,
made possible by the creativeness of the medium-sized employers and the future-oriented economy and infrastructure
of the Bavarian state government.
This was one part of the ceremony, the second part was the festivities with invited guests and partner companies,
which was at least as important to the Pickhardt family. Tradition unites - not just an empty catchphrase, then
during the reception of the guests, everyone sensed the pleasant atmosphere of being reunited again. An indication
of this, that speeches and actions at TDT belong together, as well as the proverbial hospitality. During the six
course menu there was enough time for the entrepreneurs and business partners to partake in stimulated conversations,
to smile about a »somewhat different motivation seminar« and subsequently to shake a leg to the rocking songs of the
band »On the rocks« (30 years of rock and pop). The musicians, amongst them Harald Boehm one of the first TDT
employees, played until 4 am, at which time the last of the guests left the marquee »rocked out« and contented.
